Fleur de sel is a traditional Newfoundland mansard house built in circa 1886 on the historical Great Beach of Plaisance, New France, French capital of Newfoundland in the 1700. Locally known as the O'Keefe house.This cozy home has its original wide planks walls from lumber of the Irish merchants Sweetman and Saunders fish store # 7. Nested between the Orcan river and the ocean under the Mount Plaisant a unique place to live in peace and tranquility while experiencing a Newfoundland community life style. Explore at your own pace, either by cycle, kayak or on foot, and enjoy the magnificent landscapes, protected natural and historical sites and well-guarded secrets Facilities Fleur de sel has a French flare due to its owner's origins. A dining room adjacent with a fully-equipped kitchen, all appliances including dishwasher, microwave, coffee percolator, etc.. open to a level terrace. The cognac room a cozy sitting room has a relaxing cedar aroma and a propane fireplace to keep your heart warm. Beside a study has a nice selection of English and French books, music and movies. The exposed beams and comfortable furniture will enhance your stay as you listen to music from classical to traditional Newfoundland song and read about the amazing destiny of the region. Upstairs a large bright bedroom appointed with a balcony is adjacent to a bathroom with a double air-jet bath tub and a rain shower.
