"Feel right at home"

Our stay at Amber Retreat was restful. The beds were beautifully presented with layers of lovely linens, in soothing colour palettes. They were, even more importantly, very comfortable to sleep on. The living areas were stylishly decorated with furniture pieces well placed, providing 3 different seating areas. The two ensuite bathrooms were spacious and clean. Having the extra toilet and sink in the laundry room was a bonus. We appreciated having various local attractions catalogued for us to browse through. The Twillingate area was delightful to explore, the local residents were very friendly and Amber Retreat was the place to stay!

When we walked into the house we were very impressed by the tasteful décor and authenticity. The rooms are full of natural light and the owner has paid meticulous attention to all of the details – from window dressings to the hardwood floor. The weather was cool but we simply didn’t care at the end of the day. We happened to be there when dozens of icebergs had floated into a nearby cove. It was enough to take your breath away. Twillingate is a magical island and the Amber Retreat was a perfect place to hang up our hats.

My husband and I stayed at Amber Retreat for an extended Labour Day weekend in 2009. We were more than wonderfully surprised when we opened the door! There was a beautiful decor, comfortable furniture, and every modern convenience one could imagine. The beds were so comfortable, one went off to dreamland in a matter of seconds.
Ample bathrooms and laundry facilities all added to our comfort level.
We did loads of exploring, walking, and generally poking around the Twillingate area. We were always glad to return to our wonderful accomodations. Hopefully we will return some day, and, would highly recommend these accomodations to anyone. Sooooo relaxing !!!

Oh wow, what a gorgeous place..
Visited Amber Retreat with a friend in October and was blown away by this beautiful cottage. Tasteful decor greets you as you step inside and walk through the stylish kitchen which contains all the luxuries one would need on a weekend’s escape. The bedrooms are welcoming and trying both the double bath and double shower in the respective en suites was sublime!
Stocking up on food and beverage supplies was easy (the grocery store/s are well-stocked and easy to get to from the cottage) and although the weather was crisp, it was great exploring the numerous hiking trails. Though late-October, we saw a good number of bushes still carrying berries (apparently aplenty when really in season). And the scenery from the hills was amazing. Make sure to take a hike to Spiller’s Cove which will totally take your breath away!
