The Wharf Housekeeping Units are located right across from the French River N. wharf, at the head of one of the most beautiful rivers in Prince Edward Island. French River is 10 miles west of Cavendish on P.E.I.’s north shore and is surrounded by a number of excellent public beaches, just minutes away from “The Wharf”. There is a family style golf course near the village, plus four championship style courses all within a 15 mile radius.
The village of French River is right in the middle of “Anne country”. The “Anne of Green Gables Museum” (the homestead, owned by Lucy Maud Montgomery’s aunt and uncle where she spent her summers writing and relaxing and where she was married) is just 1 mile north on Route 20 and the “Lucy Maud Birthplace” just 4 miles east.
The resort community of Cavendish is only 10 miles from French River and offers a number of attractions and theme parks, such as “Shining Waters Family Fun Park“, “Sandspit” and “Avonlea Village“. The cities of Charlottetown and Summerside are 35 miles and 25 miles respectively, from French River. The town of Kensington sits 10 miles to the west and has eateries, grocery stores, a drug store and an excellent liquor outlet.
