Welcome to the beautiful Pepperell Place Inn in St. Peter’s, Nova Scotia right in the heart of Cape Breton on Canada’s east coast and at the start of the “Bras d'Or Lakes Scenic Drive”.

St. Peter’s is one of the transition points between the Atlantic coast and the Bras d”or Lakes. These two are connected through the historic St. Peter’s Canal built in 1854. National Geographic magazine rated Cape Breton as North Americas most beautiful islands and as one of the three most beautiful islands in the world for its amazing scenery and stunning vistas. The town on St. Peter’s has a long history and our house is one if it’s historic landmarks.

In 2009/2010 it underwent a complete renovation, with a great degree of care and consideration to preserve its history. In 2009, Canada Select awarded 4.5 stars to the inn which pampers its guests with its B&B service and modern amenities such as wireless internet , cable TV and room service. Golf lovers are welcome with many beautiful and affordable golf courses nearby. A day trip from the inn will take you to the Number 1 rated Highland Links golf course in beautiful Ingonish.

Water sports enthusiasts and sailors find St. Peter’s to be the perfect vacation spot as the marina is only a few minutes away. Gourmets will be delighted with our restaurant which offers an excellent menu with fine local cuisine specializing in lobster and other seafood.If you wish you can pamper yourself in the morning with our B&B service. For example, a trip to the Fortress of Louisbourg, a National Historic site, a day trip on the famous Cabot Trail one of North America’s most beautiful coastal roads or 18 holes at one of the wonderful golf courses nearby. Cosy wooden cottage on a paradisiacal private island

Experience an explosion of colors this autumn with a Canadian island getaway. Discover the tranquility of Hunt Island, where your only neighbors are of the four-legged variety.

This attractive private island on the vast Ponhook Lake is available for rent. The lake is very popular among tourists and natives and is characterized by its many islands and very interesting scenic coastal areas. It reaches temperatures of up to 23 °C in summer and is therefore suited for all kinds of water sports. The island is covered by dense mixed forest and one could not imagine a more relaxing place to stay.

Rates
CAD 290 per day for up to six guests.
Minimum stay 5 days - we recommend one week.
Cleaning deposit of CAD 150.

Location
On Ponhook Lake, only half a kilometer from the small town of Molega, a nice drive through scenic dense woodland away.

Accommodation
The two-storey house (approx. 1292 sq ft) on Hunt Island boasts a small open loft space, two bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor. On the first floor, a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a large dining and living room with open kitchen can be found. Water sports equipment is kept in the boathouse.

Dining
The kitchen is fully equipped. Very good shopping facilities are located in Bridgewater, the largest town in the South Shore region, which can be reached in 35 minutes.

Activities
Swimming, canoeing, hiking or fishing. Kejimkujik National Park is not too far away. A boat, sailboard, kayak and some canoes are available on the island.

Best Time to Travel
Spring, summer and autumn are ideal seasons for touring, though if you wish to ski, winter or early spring are naturally the best times for this sport. Swimming and sunbathing are excellent in the summer months of July and August. Enjoy Indian Summer from late September to mid-October when you can experience the explosion of autumn colours, abundance of wildlife and orchestra of sounds.

Fly to Halifax International Airport. We can book rental cars at reasonable prices for you from the airport.

We're just off Highway 118, ideally located in the center of Dartmouth Crossing, eight kilometres from downtown Halifax. Wake up to our free hot breakfast and take a dip in our indoor pool featuring a 150ft. waterslide. WIFI and parking are on us.
